Preferred Health Resources complies with HIPAA privacy and security regulations. In fact, at PHR security is a priority. All data and the connection to our system are protected by a state-of-the-art firewall. Through our secured connection you can use your office PC and laptop, with either a modem or high speed connection, to instantly access all your patients appointment and billing information.
The actual system consists of the following equipment and connections to the Internet:
- Primary Internet Connection - T1
Our ISP has a backup connection at the local POP - Secondary Internet Backup - DSL
- Stand-alone Firewall
- Two IBM Midrange computers, one for backup
- Realtime data backup (RAID)
- Daily tape backup
